         Tourists booking cheap flights to Paris this summer will have something extra special to look forward to after it was announced that one of the city’s most impressive buildings, which has been closed for the majority of its 500-year past, will be temporarily opened to the public.
Tour Saint-Jacques is based in the centre of the French capital and offers stunning views to any tourists who are willing to pay the €6 entrance fee and climb the tower’s 300 stairs.
The Tour Saint-Jacques, which offers an impressive 360-degree view of Paris, is among the city’s best-kept secrets. The Gothic tower was built in the 16th Century and was a significant stop on the pilgrimage route to the Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela.
Hoping it Will be Popular 
          While it still hasn’t secured a permanent visitor license, the tower, which is more than 62 metres tall, will remain accessible to tourists until the middle of September.The move is part of an experiment and it is thought that a permanent license could be issued if it goes well.
Speaking about the move, Remi Riviere, head of the local association which will be organising the tours,
said: "We would like it to be open for a longer period each year. If we get a lot of visitors this summer and nobody jumps from the terrace then hopefully the city will give us the green light."

World Cinema Event Heading To Amsterdam In August.

The increasingly popular World Cinema Amsterdam, a festival that celebrates films
 from Africa, Latin America and Asia, is on its way to the city again this August.
The upcoming dates represent the festival’s third year and while more specific
 details of the screenings are yet to be revealed, those travelling with Jet2.com to
 Amsterdam this summer can expect the 2013 event to match the vivacity of World
 Cinema Amsterdam 2012.

 more than 40 individual shorts and feature-length films – many of which will be
accompanied by Q&A sessions.
There will also be a host of discussions to attend on the various screenings, as well
as parties and masterclasses in film making.
Numerous Locations
Last year, two more venues in Amsterdam - the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre and
 De Balie – were added to the list of the festival’s locations and will remain as event
 venues this year. Other locations in use include Amsterdam’s popular Rialto cinema
 – located along Ceintuurbaan – and Marie Heinekenplein, an open circular space
 lined with cafes and restaurants.
Launching in 2010, World Cinema Amsterdam proved immensely popular;
the following year, the number of visitors to the various shows increased by 50%.
Each year, the festival runs a competition and has awards for both audience choice
 and titles selected by a board.
Those planning to attend the world cinema festival, which is taking place August 7
